Reducing administration burdens by helping participants self-serve
The Pacific Coast Benefits Trust (PCBT) is a defined contribution pension plan that is funded and managed completely on behalf of the employee. Since there are not many actions participants need to take, the plan lacked visibility. With more than 170,000 active accounts, plan administrators wanted to find a way to make participants aware of this benefit and access their fully vested funds. To build awareness and cut down on the administrative burden and cost of tracking down employees and beneficiaries, we created the PCBT’s first ever website. Using our Foundation+ platform we were able to create an informative and easy-to-use website in just two months. The new site encourages people to confirm or updated their information, and opt out of paper mailings, and clearly explains the fund and how to rollover or distribute funds when ready. In addition, we created a flyer advertising the new site that was mailed to all account holders.
